Instandsetzung Zentralverriegelung entriegelt nicht (Kabelbruch oder UCH?)

Some time ago the central door locking of my Espace started to malfunction.
Sometimes only the left front door and the tailgate were locked, the other three doors were not locked.
I could lock and unlock the other doors by deactivating or activating the child lock.
At first it was sporadic but at some point the normal operation of the central locking stopped completely.
Each time I had to use the child lock switch, which was quite devious.

After some searching I came across on a German and French Espace forum that this has to do with poor soldering in the fuse box under the dashboard.
This problem occurs in all types of Espace IV, from Phase 1 to Phase 4... :fp: They've never solved this.
There were two options for this; either install a new fuse box (which is very expensive) or neatly resolder the bad soldering (remove the old tin and resolder it).
To do either of these, the entire dashboard had to be removed...


Here are some pictures of the "operation dashboard".

Before I started, I made sure that all doors were unlocked and the - terminal of the battery was disconnected.

First removed the tweeter covers and then the window frames.





Removed the two covers next to the dashboard and removed the screws on both sides.





Then remove the tweeters, first disconnect the plugs and then you can click them out.
On the right side you also need to disconnect the airbag connector.

Taking out the radio saves weight when lifting the dashboard.



Remove the two shells around the steering column, this can be done without removing the steering wheel. Just look carefullyand, try a little bit and it should work.



Unclip the cover above the speedometer and unclip the plug from the sensor, then you can remove it.



The speedometer is secured with a few Torx screws, remove these and disconnect all connectors. It can then be removed.





There is a plate at the top of the glove compartment, which you can click loose and then remove the screws. There are also two small coverplates in the compartment where the radio is located, click them loose and remove the two screws. You can also pop out the strip between the cover of the radio and the vent outlets on the dashboard. When this is removed, the dashboard is slightly more flexible. Pull the steeringwheel towards you as far as possible so that you have more space.

The top of the dashboard can then be pulled towards you and then lift it up, this is a job for two people so you wont break or crack anything. The recess next to the radio slides basically under the bar in the dashboard. So it takes a bit of trying. To remove the dashboard, both front doors must be open.
After some careful prying, the top of the dashboard came forward (towards you) and used a bar to raise it up. You can also remove it completely, but this seemed like less work to me.
